ADSL

ADSL Internet Access...

The answer to your need for speed! ADSL is the 'always on' connection that offers you the highest speeds available for your money. Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL), is super-fast modem technology that allows you to access the internet and use your telephone for voice calls at the same time.

Features

  • 512Kbps download, 256Kbps upload.
  • Always on connection / no Telkom usage charges.
  • Famous SoftNet service and support

Limitations of ADSL?

  • Distance from the exchange - Users cannot be more than 3,5 to 5km from the change they are connecting to.
  • Usage is restricted to 2 or 4 concurrent users
  • Usage will be limited to 3 GB's of traffic - This is equivalent to downloading the full 512 capacity for 14 hours.
  • ADSL is limited to copper telephone lines as well as the quality of the copper connection. Dynamic IP Address - With an ADSL connection you can't host your own mail server or website.
  • There is no speed guarantee
  • ADSL is dependant on existing infrastructure - ADSL works on copper only, is only available in selected exchanges in Pretoria and Johannesburg and limited to a total initial capacity of 1780 ports.
